Epicured makes it really easy to pause your future orders in the account settings, without having to call customer support. That’s even the case if you purchased your meal box using Epicured’s special discount. |
You may be looking to cancel your subscription for a variety of reasons. Maybe you’re already a customer and want to try out a different service, or you might simply want to know how easy it is to cancel before signing up. When I tried out Epicured, I thought it was a great meal delivery service, but it might not be right for you.
You’ll find the process to be straightforward. All you have to do to cancel your subscription is to head into your account dashboard. From there, you’ll be able to get the job done in about 2 to 3 simple steps.
Whatever the case may be, it’s very quick and easy to cancel your account, and you don’t even have to speak to anyone from support to do so. If you’re canceling because of the limited variety of meals, I recommend checking out Green Chef as it has a larger selection.

Log in – Enter your login credentials on the Epicured website.
Cancel your subscription – Click on Account Overview. From there, simply scroll down until you see Cancel Subscription, then click on it.
Find a different vendor – I recommend trying Green Chef as an alternative. It offers a range of meal kits for dietary restrictions including gluten free, keto, vegetarian, and vegan. The gluten free meals are certified so they’re safe for severe allergies.
Canceling your Epicured subscription is about as easy as it gets, and it only requires about 2 to 3 mouse clicks in total. I recommend that you ensure you do this before your next order is processed – 1 pm EST on Fridays.
Sign into your account – Log into the Epicured website and head over to your account dashboard. You can do this by hovering your mouse over your name in the top right, once you’re logged in.
Click Cancel Subscription – Scroll down and click on Cancel Subscription.
Confirm your cancelation – After that, you'll be asked if you’d rather pause your orders and resume later. To continue canceling, simply click Yes, I'm sure. I still want to cancel.
Canceling your Epicured subscription might feel like a relief because of the somewhat limited menu and higher-than-average prices. Fortunately, there are several great alternative meal delivery options that have way more variety, and far better prices.
I’ve chosen 3 alternatives, one of which you might just fancy more than Epicured. Since each service is generally very simple to cancel, there’s no harm in testing out a few options. No company wants you to feel “locked-in” as that’ll leave you with a bad taste in your mouth.
Most Green Chef meals are certified gluten-free, and all produce and eggs are organic. While there are a few meals containing gluten, they’re prepared and packed in a separate facility so there’s no cross-contamination risk. This makes Green Chef a safe choice for celiacs who want to cook meals for their families.
I tried Green Chef at home and was blown away by the quality of the meals I cooked. If you want to learn how to make delicious gluten-free meals at home, Green Chef is an excellent choice. (And while some of the recipe names may sound intimidating, I found the recipes easy to follow).
While Epicured only sends single-serving meals, Green Chef meal kits feed up to 6. Its meals start from around $6.00 per serving. And if Green Chef doesn’t work out for you, I was able to cancel my subscription in under 2 minutes.
BistroMD’s gluten-free menu is ideal for celiacs and gluten-sensitive dieters. It contains no wheat, rye, or barley meals and adheres to FDA gluten-free standards so there’s no risk of cross-contamination. The Pork Tenderloin with Mushroom Marsala pictured above is delicious, satisfying, and 100% gluten-free.
BistroMD offers 5-day and 7-day programs and can provide you with 2 or 3 meals per day plus optional EATS (Essential and Tasty Snacks). It also offers other plans dedicated to specific conditions, like diabetes or menopause, as well as the general Signature plan that lets you choose from all BistroMD’s over 150 menu options.
Our expert reviewer found BistroMD was a great choice for those seeking serious weight loss, but it can also provide a steady supply of filling but low-calorie meals suited for gluten-sensitives.
BistroMD is also considerably cheaper than Epicured, with prices starting at just $5.50 per serving.
ModifyHealth is a bit like Epicured in that it offers low FODMAP recipes. But that’s not all – it also offers a Mediterranean-specific program. All meals have been developed by dietitians and top chefs.
Additionally, all of ModifyHealth’s ingredients are gluten-free, non-GMO, and certified organic. You can learn more about this in my colleague’s full review here. If you’ve been wanting to try out a different low FODMAP meal delivery service, it might be worth checking out ModifyHealth.
As with Epicured, all of its meals are prepared, which means all you have to do is heat and eat them. This makes the process of eating and cleaning up as simple as it gets. Lastly, ModifyHealth always offers free shipping along with lower starting prices than Epicured. Prices start at $13.45 per serving.
