Can you share with us the story behind Frescobene Foods and how it became a leader in the frozen artisan sauce industry?
Growing up in our Italian families we learned early on the importance of spending quality time with family and friends, and for both of us that centered around the table sharing great conversations and devouring delicious homemade Italian food. This tradition also instilled in us a love of food and a passion for cooking. (Which led Ann to attend Le Cordon Bleu and Lisa to start her own catering business which Ann joined a few years later) We wanted to carry on this cherished tradition with our own families, but like so many busy people these days, finding time to cook the hours-long sauces we grew up enjoying, was getting increasingly harder to do.
We knew there had to be a better way to put a delicious meal on the table without spending hours in the kitchen, and without sacrificing flavor or quality. We did just that when we created Frescobene Artisan Sauces...you see we knew our grandmothers secret weapon, the freezer. After hours of cooking we freeze our sauces in BPA free heat & serve pouches. Not only does this maintain peak freshness but it makes bringing everyone together for a mouthwatering meal effortless!

Our products are also non-GMO and gluten-free. In addition to the quality of our ingredients, our packaging is innovative. Our BPA-free, FDA-approved "heat and serve" pouches enable users to heat the sauce directly in the pot of water used to cook the pasta, without any extra preparation or mess. How do you ensure that Frescobene Foods' artisan sauces maintain their high quality during the freezing process?
At Frescobene Foods, we take pride in our sauces that are prepared in a USDA facility. This facility ensures the highest level of monitoring for all labor, refrigerators, and freezers to maintain quality. Our co-packer specializes in soups, sauces, and chilis that are packaged in pouches and frozen to preserve freshness. The pouches are vacuum-sealed on a hot fill machine and cooled down according to USDA guidelines. Subsequently, the pouches are frozen within a day and kept well below 0 degrees until they reach your plate, ensuring our customers will always be minutes away from enjoying a delicious, homemade-tasting sauce, which always tastes as fresh as the day it was made!

We collaborate with local farmers and suppliers to source the finest ingredients for our artisan sauces. Our focus is on quality, and we work closely with our partners to ensure that our customers receive only the best. We use a local butcher to source our Sweet Italian Sausage, as well as local farms for our onions, garlic and herbs.
Can you share any exciting plans or upcoming products that Frescobene Foods has in store for its customers?
One area we love working on is R & D and creating new recipes and products. We are currently working on a few new sauce flavors, meal kits, single-serve frozen entrées, and ready-made pasta cups! We can’t wait for our customers to taste all we have cooking at Frescobene!
