We chat with Cindy Wong, VP of Sales at Franklin Farms about this thriving company that focuses on bringing affordable, delicious, easy-to-prepare plant-based products to customers.
Franklin Farms began in 1981 on an actual mushroom farm in Franklin, Connecticut. We started making veggie patties by using broken, small pieces of mushroom. Since introducing our vegetable-based burgers, we’ve crafted a range of health-conscious plant-based products that span meal types and taste profiles.
We start with flavor-forward, high-quality, plant proteins. Then we mix them, splice them, mingle them, and dice them. We don’t genetically engineer them. From a quick bite to a sit-down dinner, we make cooking with and eating plant-based proteins, easy and delicious. Our diverse line of products is a “one-stop shop for plant-based foods.
We carefully source ingredients from local and overseas suppliers. We have an internal vendor verification program to make sure that all the ingredients we use are produced in an FDA regulation-compliant facility.
Our flagship product is our line of Veggie Burgers and Meatless Meatballs that you can find in the refrigerated section. They’re made with high-quality, non-GMO ingredients, and provide a good source of plant-based protein.
Our product line also includes Tofu, Fusion Tofu, Seitan, Tempeh, Wraps, Jerky, A9Ω™ Plant-Based burgers, Planty Good™ Patties and Ground, and more.
As plant-based eating continues to grow, we’re seeing more and more customers seeking out protein alternatives. In the Mintel 2021 research report, overall, 18% of people are flexitarian, vegetarian, or vegan. Adults aged 25-44 are the key demographic for plant-based food. Today, plant-based proteins are not only a trend but also a way of life for many customers.
