Jamie, what inspired you to start Bow Valley BBQ, and how did your backgrounds as executive chefs influence the creation of your products?

Our journey began with a focus on culinary arts, which led us to pursue further knowledge through government grants in the field of food science. This unique blend of scientific understanding and informal culinary expertise culminated in the creation of our renowned Bow Valley Barbecues recipes.

Can you tell us more about the process of developing your sauces and condiments, and what sets them apart from others on the market?

Chris and I have dedicated significant time to working and traveling over the years, which has greatly influenced our approach to cooking. As former fans of Food First, we draw inspiration for our recipes from the various places we've visited and the diverse cuisines we've sampled. We strive to imbue our creations with a bold, unique, yet familiar edge, always mindful of current trends. However, our primary focus is on creating food that we personally enjoy. This approach is how our recipes come to life.

How do you ensure that Bow Valley BBQ products maintain their high quality and exceptional flavors as you expand internationally?

We have transitioned from producing everything ourselves at our Canmore facility to collaborating with some truly exceptional partners. Our facilities adhere to the highest global standards, including SQF certification, which is paramount to us. We now produce in Eastern Canada, Western Canada, and are even beginning production in the US. However, every aspect of the recipe undergoes our scrutiny and approval before it is brought to market.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of seeing your products in restaurants and on grocery store shelves?

It's incredibly gratifying to witness others savoring our culinary creations. Even after several years, the excitement of spotting our product on a restaurant table remains unchanged. The feeling is amplified when we enter a new restaurant and find our product proudly displayed. Seeing our product in grocery stores is particularly rewarding. Given our frequent travels for work, encountering our product in various regions and countries is immensely fulfilling.

How do you see Bow Valley BBQ continuing to evolve and innovate in the future?

This year, we're thrilled to introduce our new spice line. We're adding four more varieties to the spice world to complement our Missing Link spice rub. These new additions offer a well-rounded lineup of bold yet unique recipes that align with our brand, are on trend, and are perfect for daily use.
