Culinary Rd. 2024: Cooking, Drinking, Music & Travel

DeliveryRank introduces Justin Melnick, a renowned chef and the driving force behind Culinary Rd.™ Alongside wine experts Fred Mullins and Garret Vandermolen, he hosts a weekly show covering the realms of cooking, drinking, music, and travel, featuring guest experts from various fields. With a perfect blend of education and entertainment, Culinary Rd.™ delivers captivating stories and valuable insights to its audience. Explore prepared meals, online and in-person cooking experiences, and wine dinners brought to you by Culinary Rd.™.

Justin, can you share a memorable experience from your recent podcast episodes where education and entertainment intersected in a unique way?

The Culinary Rd. Podcast has been on a bit of a heinous as of late, we have 45 episodes available currently with a tentative plan down the road to restart it.  A must-listen episode where education and entertainment came together was Season 2 Episode 1 “Sauvignon Blanc & Sports Illustrated Together at Last” where we had Katrina Scott joined us freshly off being featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue as a rookie in the magazine.  It was a great conversation combining food, wine, life, and our respective professions.

How do you approach creating educational content that remains engaging and entertaining for your audience, especially in the realms of cooking, drinking, music, and travel?

We are fortunate to have a wide-ranging net of relationships cultivated throughout our collective careers and the mindset that there is always more to learn.  Our conversations are very informal and the goal is to teach ourselves something new every day, and hopefully share that with an audience that feels the same way.

With the expansion of Culinary Rd. to offer prepared meals, cooking classes, and wine dinners, how do you ensure that each experience is both informative and enjoyable for participants?

I have had a great opportunity in my culinary career to learn from some great chefs and hospitality professionals, and one of the most enjoyable parts of my job is to share that knowledge and experience with those who are interested.  I have done many classes, both in person and virtually, that have been well received.  It is a fun, hands-on experience that I am passionate about sharing.

Your upcoming Italian food and beverage tour in Umbria sounds fascinating. Could you give us a sneak peek into some of the culinary and cultural highlights travelers can expect on this tour?

The Culinary Rd. Tour of Umbria will kick off in mid-October with a small group of travelers joining me on an all-inclusive food and beverage immersion of all things Italian.  There will be a mix of cooking classes, wine tastings, truffle hunting, olive oil production, plenty of eating and drinking, and much more.  This is the inaugural annual trip that is truly a unique experience unlike any other.  I am working with great connections in Italy who have assisted in cultivating this amazing opportunity.

As experts in the field, what advice would you give to individuals looking to enhance their cooking and wine knowledge while also enjoying the process?

Get out there and experience the food and beverage world. Try new dishes, drink new beverages, ask questions, take cooking classes, try new restaurants, & travel! There are passionate professionals all over who are more than happy to share their knowledge with people who want to learn.
