Billy Button Wines is known for its vibrant personality, much like the native Craspedia flowers after which it is named. How does the company’s creative and colorful ethos reflect in your day-to-day work and interactions?

Thank you! We aim to be a destination for our loyal customers, who can visit us and consistently receive excellent customer service and high quality wines at great value.  

With the winery’s focus on emerging regions and varietal diversity, what are some of the challenges you face in managing such a diverse and growing portfolio of wines?

The challenge could be that customers may have too much choice, or with such a variety, you may choose to stay with wines you already know and love - BUT the beauty of our diverse range of wines is that you can try something new. Visiting our cellar door provides the opportunity to taste our extensive varietal range, as they are all available for tasting. Planning a trip to Bright? You may need to visit our cellar door multiple times!

The vision behind Billy Button Wines is deeply inspired by its winemaking philosophy. How do you support this vision ensuring operational efficiency?

We have a small team of all the right people, who come together to bring Billy Button Wines' vision to life! From the winemakers to the cellar door staff, everybody plays an important role in the running of Billy Button.

In 2014, Billy Button Wines burst onto the wine scene. What are some of the key milestones you’ve seen in the winery’s journey, and what has contributed to this growth and success?

In 2024 Billy Button Wines celebrated their 10th anniversary. Having begun in 2014, Billy Button has seen many milestones, but the key to its growth and success has to be the consistent high quality of wines, closely linked to its great value that wine lovers know and appreciate. Our loyal customers know they will get the best product we can produce, from each vintage. Obviously there are a number of factors that may affect a vintage, but having a great team and skilled winemakers with a wealth of knowledge, always produces a product that our customers can rely on and enjoy.

Looking ahead, what do you see as the next big challenge or opportunity for Billy Button Wines?

With a wealth of established vineyards in the region tended to by dedicated growers, we work with a number of highly accomplished local vignerons, to secure some of the best fruit available in the region. We are always willing to work with all available varieties that fit with our philosophy - you never know what new grape variety might come up each vintage. It's been a tough few years in the wine industry, but the trends show that wine lovers will consistently go for higher quality wines that offer them great value for money.
