Finding meal delivery services that cater to the Mediterranean diet can be challenging. While there are tons of meal delivery services to choose from, not all will offer a specific Mediterranean plan – but I’ve come up with 10 that fit the bill.
My team and I have researched and tested several of the best options for this year to bring you the ones that emphasized healthy foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, seafood, beans, nuts, and more.
Green Chef tops the list for me, thanks to its dedicated Mediterranean plan and premium ingredients. This is a plan that you won’t find in many mainstream meal delivery services. The weekly menu offers an ever-changing mix of meat, fish, and vegetarian meal kits that all suit a Mediterranean diet.
But Green Chef won’t be for everyone, and my list includes options for all kinds of diners, from those looking for single-serving microwave meals to kid-friendly kits for busy families. Ready to find yours? Read on to see the best meal delivery services for Mediterranean dieters.
Green Chef – Best for organic Mediterranean ingredients
Blue Apron – Best gourmet service for the Mediterranean diet
HelloFresh – Best Mediterranean meal kits for families
Home Chef – Best for customization
A USDA-certified organic company
Prepped ingredients
Other dietary options include keto, plant-based, and gluten-free
Green Chef fairly recently introduced its dedicated Mediterranean plan. With recipes full of veggies and good-for-you fats, this plan sits alongside Green Chef’s other diet-friendly options, including the Keto, Protein Packed, and Plant Based plans.
You’ll have access to the full menu of 45+ recipes each week, regardless of which plan you choose. It’s good news for anyone wanting to combine lean meat and fish dishes with vegan and veggie options. Find out how our reviewer got on when they gave Green Chef a go at home.
You’ll find Mediterranean flavor in entrees such as Creamy Mushroom Truffle Linguine (pictured below), and Mediterranean Chicken with Artichokes, Roasted Peppers, and Pepita Pesto.
There are plenty of add-ons to choose from. Look out for breakfast options like the Red Pepper and Swiss Egg White Bites, Banana Nut Muffins, and a selection of flavored oatmeals, plus additional proteins like salmon, barramundi, and chicken.
Green Chef stands out as the first meal kit service to receive CCOF certification. It is also USDA-certified. This company partners with farmers for sustainable, flavorful food, sourcing organic ingredients from family-owned farms.
Most of the meal kits take around 30 minutes to cook. Still, Green Chef is suitable for beginners or those pressed for time. The sauces and marinades arrive ready to use, and some of the veggies are chopped to make prep easier.
The service offers nutrition coaching sessions. During these 20-minute sessions, you'll receive valuable advice from a registered dietitian. Nutritionists specialize in various areas, so you can choose one that understands the Mediterranean diet.
What separates Green Chef from its cheaper counterparts is certified organic produce and eggs. While it may not be the best service for those on a tight budget, if you prefer to prioritize organic ingredients and premium proteins, it could be worth the cost.
The minimum order is 3 meals for 2 people per week, but you can get as many as 4 meals for 6. Prices start at $9.99 per serving, with a new customer discount when you order the maximum number of servings.
Gourmet options at a great price point
Easy-to-follow recipes, plus prepared dishes
Other dietary options include low-calorie and diabetes-friendly
Current deal: Enjoy meals starting as low as $5.59
Blue Apron’s entire Wellness menu has been inspired by the Mediterranean diet. You’ll find recipes that are filled with vegetables, whole grains, quality proteins, and healthy fats.
The service is known for its Meal Kits, but there’s now a range of Prepared & Ready dishes that arrive fresh and just require heating in the microwave. There are also Ready-to-Cook dishes that just require assembling in the accompanying oven-safe pan.
The Mediterranean diet inspires the entire Blue Apron Wellness menu. You’ll find recipes like the Crispy Skin Salmon and Orzo with Lemon-Caper Sauce (pictured above) and Mushroom Farrotto (pictured below).
Blue Apron’s extras are where this service really shines. As well as meal bundles, you can also pick up breakfasts, desserts, healthy salads, and prepared meals for 1 or 2 people in the Add-ons section.
The recipes are easy to cook – even for novice chefs. You’ll find helpful recipe cards both in your box and online, plus some how-to tips and follow-along videos via the app and website if you need extra guidance.
Many of Blue Apron’s Mediterranean recipes are also suitable for weight loss. They contain plenty of lower-carb and lower-calorie recipes that promise to be balanced and packed with flavor.
The minimum order is 2 meals for 2 people per week, with a maximum of 5 meals for 4. If you opt for the maximum order, you’ll be able to get Blue Apron’s cheapest price per serving of $4.00. Prepared & Ready meals are single serving and the minimum order is 4 meals.
Great value for money
Wide range of Mediterranean-inspired seafood and veggie recipes
Easy Prep and Easy Cleanup options
One of the things that makes HelloFresh so appealing is its vast choice compared to many other meal delivery services. It offers 1 of the largest weekly menus out there.
HelloFresh’s range of Mediterranean-inspired seafood and veggie options particularly stands out, with dedicated Pescatarian, Veggie, Meat & Veggie, and Fit & Wholesome plans. That said, you’ll always have access to the full menu.
There’s a Family Friendly plan, too, which features tons of crowd-pleasing dishes that kids love. You can also customize some recipes, which can help make them more Mediterranean-friendly.
There’s a lot more to this company than I could possibly cover here, so find out how our reviewer got on when they put HelloFresh to the test at home.
HelloFresh is a service that places a strong focus on sustainability and promises only high-quality produce and proteins – though it offers few organic options (for organic, you’ll be better off Green Chef).
You can find many recipes in the on-site Cookbook. Under World Cuisines you’ll find Mediterranean recipes, among many others. You can also browse by dish type, where you can find pasta and health bowl recipes.
The minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, but you can order as many as 6 recipes for up to 6 – another reason why HelloFresh is so great for families. Pricing is reasonable, especially with larger orders that reduce the per-serving cost. A box of 6 meals for 4 people costs $107.75 for your first purchase when you use our link.
Wide range of low-prep meals
Swap, upgrade, or double-up on the protein
More than 30 dishes to choose from each week
Many of Home Chef’s recipes are well-suited to the Mediterranean diet. This is a service that regularly scores high in our rankings – and you’ll see why in my colleague’s detailed Home Chef review.
At Home Chef, you'll find around 40 meals on the menu. While browsing, you'll discover Meal Kits, Express, Oven-Ready, Lunch, Bundle & Save, and Extras meal categories. For quick meal options, focus on Express, Lunch, and Bundle & Save.
Various meals feature the term Mediterranean in their titles to make them easier to spot. You can also filter for recipes that fall under vegetarian, calorie- and carb-conscious categories.
Home Chef offers a great selection of add-ons, too. As well as being able to pick up extra protein (some of which is available in bulk – great for families and barbecues!), you can add ready-to-bake desserts, low-effort Mediterranean-style salads, bread, breakfasts, and more.
The Customize-It feature lets you make many of the meals Mediterranean-friendly. If you want to cut back on your red meat intake, for example, swap the sirloin in your dish for salmon.
Love risotto but don’t care for tuna? Order your Ahi Tuna Toscana and Creamy Parmesan Farro Risotto with antibiotic-free chicken instead.
When you sign up, you can also select from a limited list of ingredients you want to avoid. These are beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and mushrooms.
A subscription to Home Chef is well worth considering. With its extensive meal selection and robust customization options, you can choose or customize meals to suit your needs and Mediterranean preferences.
The minimum order is 2 recipes for 2 people per week, with the option to order a maximum of 6 recipes for 6 people. Pricing starts at around $9.99 per serving. But note that this is just an estimate, and customizations and add-ons will change the total of your final order.
Doctor-designed, chef-prepared meals
No MSG, aspartame, or trans fats
More than 150 dishes on a rotating 6-week menu
BistroMD’s prepared meals are great for weight loss or managing health issues. Every subscription includes support from the service’s in-house dietitians, and flexible programs let dieters choose how many meals they’ll have daily.
All the meals are prepared, so you don’t have to worry about weighing your food, counting calories, or tracking anything via food apps. Having your daily food intake delivered to your door with zero prep or cleanup required is what appeals to many about BistroMD’s service.
With dishes such as Italian-Style Omelet, Chicken-Spinach Meatloaf with Tomato Glaze, and Fisherman’s Seafood Stew, there are plenty of Mediterranean-style dishes. You can get a more in-depth look at the menu in my colleague’s review.
The flash-frozen, calorie-controlled dishes are a simple way to take control of your food intake. There’s even the option to add EATS (essential and tasty snacks) to your plan, so you can enjoy some indulgent nibbles without derailing your goals.
The programs are varied, with tailored options for women and men. The Heart Healthy plan is well aligned with the Mediterranean diet, with all the dishes on this menu promising to be within the recommended AHA guidelines for calories, sodium, and saturated fat.
You can select meal plans for either 5 or 7 days a week, with choices for 3 meals daily or just lunches and dinners. Choosing the full 7-day plan provides you with 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 6 dinners. The additional dinner, known as My Night, lets you enjoy any meal of your choice without guilt.
The minimum order here is lunch and dinner for 5 days, but you can order meals in a few other combinations. For instance, you can get lunch and dinner for 7 days or commit to the Full Plan which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 7 days. If you go for the maximum order, you’re looking at a price of $6.59 per serving.
High-quality, non-GMO ingredients
Track your meals on MyFitnessPal, Carb Manager, and others
Other dietary options include gluten-free, keto, and high-protein
Factor’s dietitian-designed prepared meals are made for busy, active lifestyles. All its meals are single-serving and ready-made, which means no prep, cooking, or cleanup. If you ask me, it doesn’t get much easier than that!
The menu changes each week (expect 30+ dishes), with filters for keto, spicy, low-carb, vegan, dairy-free, and other requirements. You can find out more about what to expect in my colleague’s Factor review.
Factor offers some great add-ons, too, including cold-pressed juices and smoothies, high-protein breakfasts, salads, and keto-friendly sweet treats. You can also pick up extra portions of Mediterranean-friendly proteins, including Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings and Pan-Seared Salmon.
Check out the labels while exploring the menu to find the right choices. Look for markers such as Keto, Calorie-Smart, Protein Plus, and Vegetarian, as these are most likely to suit a Mediterranean diet.
You’ll get a free 20-minute online consultation with an in-house nutrition coach when you sign up. And there are further nutrition coaching packages available if you feel like you need extra support with your diet. This is great if you’re new to the Mediterranean diet and need help starting.
There’s usually a good range of plant-based, veggie, and non-veggie dishes. These include a varied mix of meat and fish to complement a Mediterranean lifestyle.
The service ships fresh meals, which sets it apart from many other services specializing in ready-to-eat food. And the shelf life is pretty good, up to 7 days from delivery, which is another point in Factor’s favor. So, you’re covered until the next shipment.
Factor is one of the pricier meal delivery services out there, for sure. But the quality and sustainability of the produce and proteins take it to a different level compared to many of the salt- and sugar-laden prepared meals.
You can order between 6 and 18 meals per week, making Factor a great choice for anyone who wants to stock up the fridge or freezer with healthy, ready-to-heat dishes. The best-value option offers 18 single-serving meals for $103.41 on your first purchase if you use our link.
Easy-to-cook meals curated by Martha Stewart
Family friendly and affordable
Other dietary options include vegetarian, vegan, no added gluten, and more
Marley Spoon is a solid option for Mediterranean dieters, particularly those with young families. The menu is packed with fresh, seasonal produce, top-quality meat, and seafood. And it offers hearty portion sizes with tons of variety. And despite our reviewer having some doubts about whether or not they could get to grips with Martha Stewart’s recipes, the dishes proved easy to put together.
There’s no dedicated Mediterranean menu, but just about everything that falls under the Health & Diet and Vegetarian & Vegan categories will suit this kind of lifestyle. Look out for tasty-sounding meals like the One-Pot Mediterranean Chicken (pictured) and Pan-Roasted Tilapia with Potatoes and Herb Butter.
Most of the meal kits will take anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes to make. If you want to find some ultra-fast dishes for busy weeknights, keep an eye out for the Under 30 Minutes tag while browsing the menu. It does offer a couple of prepared meals each week, too, but these are limited.
Marley Spoon caters particularly well to various dietary accommodations beyond Mediterranean dishes, offering many meals that have no added gluten, are dairy-free, and are plant-based.
Look for recipes marked with the Customizable tag to personalize ingredients. For instance, with the Cajun-Spiced Shrimp dish, you can replace shrimp with ready-to-heat chicken or wild-caught shrimp. Note that substitutions may incur a surcharge.
Marley Spoon isn’t only sustainable in terms of its environmental ethos (it was the first meal delivery service to go carbon neutral) – but its pricing makes sticking with this service sustainable, too.
The minimum order is 2 meals for 2 people per week, up to a maximum of 6 meals for 4. You can expect prices to start at $4.99 per serving for the maximum weekly order.
Prepared meals and meal kits
Add breakfast, lunch, snacks, and more
Other dietary options include soy-free, gluten-free, and high-protein
Many of Purple Carrot’s entrées are suitable for a Mediterranean lifestyle, despite not having a dedicated Mediterranean plan. Each dish is full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, with exciting recipes that’ll entice even the fussiest of meat-eaters.
The Meal Kits section is divided into Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, and Plantry subcategories. Dinners provide the widest selection, with 12 options, whereas Lunches and Breakfasts each have 4 dishes. Dinners are available in 2 and 4 servings, Lunches in 2, and Breakfasts in 4.
Purple Carrot provides 16 ready-made meals, all crafted for swift and effortless serving in minutes. If you wish to stash some dishes in the freezer for future use, pick among several frozen meals.
You can also pick up extras, including breakfasts and super-speedy lunches like sandwiches and salad bowls. In the Plantry, you’ll find store-cupboard items like pasta, vegan cookies, and chilled essentials such as plant-based cheeses and black bean burgers.
Purple Carrot aims to make following a vegan diet easier with its mix of simple meal kits, prepared meals, and low-prep options. And, according to our reviewer, you’ll be hard-pressed to find convenient plant-based meals that taste quite as good!
In fact, this service makes wanting to eat more vegetables easy, with dishes like Summer Vegetable Ciabatta with Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette, Mediterranean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Crispy Chickpeas and Cashew Cheese (pictured top) and Roasted Broccoli Flatbreads (pictured above).
The menu also lets you filter gluten-free meals, recipes under 600 calories, and high-protein options. So you can find Mediterranean-inspired meals that fit your requirements with ease.
You won’t find any faux meat substitutes on the menu, which sets Purple Carrot apart from some other vegan services. The vegetables really are the stars of the show here – you’re sure to find a ton of new Mediterranean recipe inspiration plus some ingredients you may not have tried before.
You can order prepared meals or choose from the selection of meal kits available – and the minimum order is different for each. When you choose the maximum number of servings, you’ll pay $11.00 per portion.
Choose between a smaller and a larger portion for each dish
The number of available weekly options depends on the serving size
Options are available for people eating meat and plants
Eat Clean is a prepared meal delivery service with dozens of recipes on its menu. Uniquely, it allows you to choose from 2 portion sizes to suit your appetite. The service features 4 popular meal plans that include dishes that are characteristic of Mediterranean cuisine.
The available plans are Traditional, Plant Based, Keto, and Paleo. And each offers meals that we can consider Mediterranean, at least to some degree. Note that the service only displays recipes for the next week. For planning further ahead, consider subscribing to Factor.
Italian Meatball & Pasta Bowl and Creamy Shrimp Spaghetti are examples of Traditional dishes that have Mediterranean influences. In the Plant Based category, I'd highly recommend Vegetable Lasagna with Broccoli and Vegetarian Paella. I also notice some fusion meals that may suit, depending on your preferences.
You may like Paleo and Keto dishes if you aren't a strict Mediterranean dieter. If so, you should like paleo Creamy Tuscan Chicken with Mixed Veggies. Note that besides entrees, you’ll find desserts in each section. For more info, read our complete tested review.
Eat Clean gives you the flexibility to choose portion sizes that align with your dietary needs. The options available are Regular Portion and Large Portion. Eat Clean offers this choice of portion size for every dish across all meal plans.
You can choose 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, or 20 servings per week regardless of the portion size. Also, note that the price per recipe is higher for larger portions. But if you have a big appetite, I find the difference worthwhile considering the serving size.
Eat Clean may be a good choice if you enjoy mixing Mediterranean cuisine with other styles. Otherwise, you'll have a limited selection since you can only select 1 plan. For a broader range of prepared Mediterranean meals, consider opening a BistroMD account.
The portion size and the number of meals influence the price per recipe. Starting prices are at $4.30. The more meals you order, the more the cost per recipe decreases.
Calorie-controlled prepared meals

Diet-to-Go has a dedicated Mediterranean plan that’s ideal for weight-loss dieters trying to stick to a menu that’s rich in veggies, fruits, nuts, grains, fish, and lean meats. Each meal is ready to heat and eat, which means no prep, cooking, or cleanup.
There are options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to suit a wide range of preferences. The chef-prepared dishes arrive fresh – so you can heat and eat in minutes.
You can make meal swaps and customize some of the dishes – as my colleague discovered. But the Mediterranean plan promises to be varied, with dishes such as Greek Chicken with Quinoa, Herb-Baked Salmon, and Cran-Apple Muffins.
Other dedicated programs include the Balance, Balance-Diabetes, Keto-Carb30, and Veggie plans. Some of the meals will cross over, but it’s nice to see that you’re not necessarily locked into 1 specific diet forever if you decide you want to try others, too.
The service has been certified by both the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association. It offers calorie- and portion-controlled meals that are proven to help you lose weight.
You can customize the Mediterranean plan. Once you select it, you can choose to get meals for 5 or 7 days a week. You can also decide if you want 2 meals (without breakfast) or 3 dishes a day.
Diet-to-Go is known for its professional health support, too, including that of a registered dietitian, nutritionist, and certified health coach to help you meet your goals.
Diet-to-Go is a viable solution if shedding pounds is your main goal. But if you prefer having low-calorie dishes where taste is more of a priority, BistroMD would be a better option.
The minimum order is lunch and dinner for 5 days per week, but you can get a couple of other combinations. For instance, you could opt for 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for 5 days per week, or 2 or 3 meals per day for 7 days per week. If you go with the largest order, you’ll pay just $4.60 per serving.

Here are some things to look out for when you’re shopping around for a Mediterranean diet-friendly meal delivery service:
Check the ingredients: Contrary to popular belief, the Mediterranean diet isn’t very restrictive. However, if you want to reap the benefits of this style of eating, there are a few ingredients to look for, such as fruits, colorful veggies, fish, lean meats such as chicken, whole grains, beans, nuts, and other healthy fats like avocados.
Check it’s within your budget: It goes without saying that your meal delivery service needs to be affordable for you, however, note that the Mediterranean diet does focus hugely on quality ingredients – such as extra virgin olive oil – that may cost a little more. Services such as Green Chef are pricier because it focuses on organic ingredients, too.
Think about your skills and schedule: If you take pleasure in preparing meals (or desire to acquire the skill), you may prefer a service offering meal kits as opposed to pre-made meals. If you frequently find yourself short on time and in need of a speedy meal, prepared dishes, such as those from Factor, that can be easily reheated in the microwave might be more suitable for you.
Don't fear change: You might test out a few services before finding the perfect one. Luckily, all the services on my list offer simple cancelation methods.
Following the Mediterranean diet can improve your health and well-being. People living in Mediterranean areas, especially southern Italy and the Greek islands, often live longer and healthier lives. Of course, the fresh air and lifestyle contribute to this as much as the diet.
People consuming Mediterranean dishes generally don't eat processed foods, red meat, and refined breads. And they can have a glass of wine now and then.
The benefits of the Mediterranean diet are many, with the following ones being among the most important:
By following a Mediterranean diet, you reduce the consumption of foods that contribute to heart disease. As a result, the diet reduces the risk of stroke.
Individuals following this diet typically have a longer lifespan because Mediterranean food lowers the risks of heart attacks and cancer. Estimates suggest that adhering to this diet can reduce the risk of death by 20%, regardless of age.
Research suggests that the Mediterranean diet can lower the risk of dementia. This is likely because it improves cholesterol and blood sugar levels and blood vessel health, which together may reduce the likelihood of developing Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
The Mediterranean diet can aid you in losing weight and maintaining it. This effectiveness is due to its focus on wholesome, fresh foods.
Blue Apron’s Wellness meals are strongly inspired by the Mediterranean diet with lean proteins and an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables. You’ll also find lower-calorie and low-carbohydrate meals that do an excellent job of supporting good health, weight loss, or weight maintenance.
The Mediterranean diet is the #1 expert-recommended diet for those interested in optimizing their health. It supports weight loss and weight maintenance through the intake of lean meats, fresh fruits, and colorful veggies, healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil, and nutrient-dense superfoods like okra and spinach.
One of my favorite meal delivery services for the Mediterranean diet is Green Chef. With a dedicated Mediterranean plan that focuses on veggies and good-for-you fats, the recipes are balanced and exciting, while the ingredients are organic and high quality.
HelloFresh doesn’t have a specific Mediterranean plan, however, lots of its meals could fit the bill – particularly those in the Fit & Wholesome plan.
The Mediterranean diet isn’t necessarily a set-in-stone regimen, rather, it focuses on certain key ingredients like lean white meats and fish, with a heavy emphasis on fruits, veggies, and healthy fats from quality oils and nuts. With that in mind, lots of HelloFresh’s meals can easily be considered “Mediterranean-influenced”.
Vegetarians can easily follow the Mediterranean diet as it features large quantities of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and healthy grains. Vegans will want to skip (or swap) the cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products and might find it easier with a dedicated plant-based service like Purple Carrot.
