EveryPlate makes it really easy to pause your future orders in your account settings, without having to call customer support, even though I purchased my meal box using EveryPlate’s special discount.
EveryPlate is a popular meal delivery service thanks to its low prices, but those low prices come with some compromises. While it offers good value meal kits for the price, there is a limited variety of meal types compared to many competitors.
If you’re looking for a service with more variety, I highly recommend HelloFresh. The menu is packed full of crowd-pleasing recipes suitable for the whole family. Plus, not only does it offer more plans and recipes, it also has more flexible ordering options.
Before joining a new service, all you need to do is cancel your EveryPlate account. With this easy step-by-step guide, that won’t take you very long at all!

We appreciated how easy it is to cancel EveryPlate when we tested the service. Unlike some other meal delivery services, it doesn’t involve having to speak to anyone, either on the phone or over email.
Author’s note: Currently, EveryPlate doesn’t allow you to cancel through its mobile app, though you can still cancel by going to EveryPlate’s website on your phone’s web browser.
To cancel via the website, follow these easy steps:
1. Log in: Enter your email address and password on the EveryPlate website.
2. Open up Settings: You’ll find this in the menu in the top-right corner. Then scroll down to the Status section and select Deactivate my plan.
3. Click Cancel Anyway: On the next screen, EveryPlate will try and get you to stay. You’ll see options to switch your plan, contact customer services, or skip a week instead. If it’s not enough to get you to change your mind, click Cancel Anyway to proceed.
4. Confirm your deactivation: Select the reason you’ve decided to cancel from the dropdown menus, then click Deactivate now.
5. Type your feedback: Make sure you type something in the feedback box, or you won’t be able to select the Deactivate my plan button to confirm your cancelation.
You’ll then see a screen confirming your plan is deactivated. You have the option to reactivate your plan at any time from your account page. To make sure you aren’t charged for your next order, be sure to cancel before 11.59 pm CT at least 5 days before your next delivery.
If you’re having issues logging into your account or have questions about your cancelation, there are a couple of other ways you can cancel.
1. Call EveryPlate on the phone. Call the customer care line at (973) 210-4915. Before you call, ensure you have all your account information to hand, including the email address on file.
2. Use live chat to terminate your subscription. Simply type “Cancel my account”, and the chatbot will transfer you to a live agent. You will need to confirm your full name and email address to cancel your account.
HelloFresh gives you more plans to choose from than EveryPlate. HelloFresh’s Meat & Veggies, Veggie, Family-Friendly, and Quick & Easy plans are somewhat comparable to EveryPlate’s offerings, but it has 2 more to boot – Fit & Wholesome and Pescatarian. It also has a larger weekly menu, with 100+ recipes (and market add-ons) per week – and it offers more international meals.
The Easy Prep, Easy Cleanup, and One-Pot recipes are similar to EveryPlate’s simpler recipes, as they require minimal skill and kitchen time, but there are more complex dishes to try once you’ve been cooking for a while. We go through the menu in more detail in our tested HelloFresh review.
HelloFresh also gives you more flexibility on the minimum number of orders. EveryPlate has a 3 meals per week minimum, whereas HelloFresh gives you a 2-meal option. If you only need meals 2 nights a week, HelloFresh can be a less wasteful option than EveryPlate. And if your family needs more food, HelloFresh also offers 6-serving and 6-meal options.
Larger orders offer a better per-serving price, while smaller orders are a bit higher. For example, as a first-time user, you can get 6 meals for 4 people for only $107.75 by using our link.
If you liked EveryPlate’s low prices, then you’ll love Dinnerly. The menu is much bigger, with 100+ new recipes each week, including some vegetarian, low-carb, and low-calorie meals. Dinnerly’s recipes are simple, requiring just 5 steps or less and using 6 or fewer ingredients.
When we reviewed Dinnerly, we found that while it focuses on simple dishes with fewer ingredients per recipe like EveryPlate does, Dinnerly gives you a wider range of cuisines. You’ll find many international dishes as well as an abundant selection of family-friendly meals. Dinnerly also features a Market for additional groceries and prepared meals. If you found EveryPlate lacking in add-on options, Dinnerly’s Market is the solution.
Dinnerly’s flexible subscription starts at just $2.12 per serving. It offers a minimum of 3 meals for 2 people and a maximum of 6 meals for 4 people. (However, unlike EveryPlate, Dinnerly does not offer 6-serving meals).
Marley Spoon is a great way to elevate your cooking skills. If you feel stuck in a culinary rut with EveryPlate, a Marley Spoon subscription will give you many opportunities to try a variety of global flavors and learn new cooking techniques. We tried Marley Spoon at home and were impressed by the clarity of the recipes and the gourmet quality of the meals.
While some recipes may sound intimidating, Marley Spoon provides straightforward, step-by-step instructions. One thing to note is that, unlike EveryPlate, some Marley Spoon recipes require a well-stocked pantry. For example, you may find that your meal kit expects you to have white wine vinegar or a zester on hand.
Every week brings you over 100 new recipes and you can order between 2 and 6 Marley Spoon recipes in 2-serving or 4-serving sizes. Meals start at $4.99 per serving, which is higher than EveryPlate but still very reasonable given the selection and quality of ingredients.

Canceling EveryPlate is super easy to do and it doesn’t require you to contact customer support at all. You just log-in to your account, open Settings, scroll down and click Deactivate my plan – that’s it!
There’s currently no way to cancel EveryPlate on the app. But don’t worry, it’s easy to do it from the website. I walk you through the whole process, including how to speak to an actual person if you want to cancel via live chat.
If you try to cancel your order after this time, you’ll still receive your next box, and the cancellation will only take effect the following week.
Yes, EveryPlate was started by HelloFresh in 2018 as a cheaper option for meal kits you make at home. But with our code, HelloFresh costs about the same as EveryPlate. It has more choices each week and a more fun, world-inspired menu.
Skipping a week with EveryPlate is just as simple as canceling. Log in to your account and you should be able to find the Skip this week button.
